📍 Location: Darlington

🏢 About the Role:

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Building Maintenance handyman/woman with a immediate start to help maintain our buildings, facilities, and grounds to a high standard.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring the workplace is safe, functional, and comfortable for all staff by carrying out routine maintenance and repairs.

💷 Pay: £13.00 per hour
🕗 Hours of Work: 8:00am – 1400 (6 hours per day, some flexibility on start time)
📅 Additional Hours: Occasional weekend or extra hours during the week may be required (paid at overtime rate).

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

✅ Carry out general maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, and basic carpentry repairs.
✅ Replace light fittings, bulbs, and sensors as required.
✅ Support with basic decorating and paintwork repairs.
✅ Move furniture and equipment safely when needed.
✅ Maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of all facilities and outdoor areas.
✅ Monitor and support contractors, ensuring compliance with Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
✅ Assist with waste management and recycling initiatives.
✅ Be available for on-call duties and other reasonable tasks as required.

💡 What You’ll Bring:

🔹 Practical experience in building or facilities maintenance.
🔹 Basic electrical, plumbing, and DIY Skills.
🔹 A proactive, problem-solving approach and ability to work independently.
🔹 Good communication and record-keeping skills.
🔹 Physically able to perform manual maintenance tasks.
